Does anyone know this python module, bamtags? I'm using a pipeline (Dovetail Genomics, HiRise) that imports it, but it seems it doesn't exist.

It's impossible to install it and there is no information on the internet. Does anyone know it?

Additional information:

Hirise is a 3 years old pipeline that uses Chromossome Capture (HiC) data to identify misassembled regions in a genome assembly and then rescaffold them. By integrating 2 different sequencing methods, the confidence of the genome assembly is thus increased.

Thanks, Ricardo

  • $\begingroup$ Welcome to the site. Could you expand about what this tool is supposed to do? I found you commented something on an issue, How old is this pipeline you are using ? (that could help with the searches) $\endgroup$ – llrs Oct 29 '18 at 13:05
  • $\begingroup$ Hey, thanks for the suggestion. I edited the original post and added information. Yes, I have seen this question being asked in the companies' gitHub, but they are thus far unresponsive. $\endgroup$ – Ricardo Guerreiro Oct 29 '18 at 14:04
  • $\begingroup$ Well, if you paid for the workflow, ask your providers (if the support is included in the price). I was asking about what the bamtags module should do, although knowing a bit more about the pipeline doesn't hurt. $\endgroup$ – llrs Oct 29 '18 at 14:11
  • $\begingroup$ It appears that that's a program/module specific to that company, so no one but them can answer it. $\endgroup$ – Devon Ryan Oct 29 '18 at 14:15

$\begingroup$ Thank you, guys, so helpful! Yes, that's it. I wasn't aware of the simplicity of import function. I thought it only worked with builtin or pip/conda installed modules. I just had to add the scripts folder to my PATH variable or have the functions in the working directory. $\endgroup$ – Ricardo Guerreiro Oct 30 '18 at 14:46
